We will leave the port and drive to Nurimaru APEC House. The name Nurimaru APEC House is a combination of the Korean words nuri (“world”) and maru (“summit”), and “APEC House,” which refers to an APEC conference hall. Collectively, it means a house where the world summits gather together for an APEC meeting. Located on Dongbaekseom Island, which is noted for its beautiful, natural landscape embellished by dense camellia and pine trees, Nurimaru APEC House has been used as a memorial hall and a prestigious international conference hall since the APEC summit meeting. Nurimaru, a 3-story building, is a modernistic expression of “jeongja”, a pavilion in the traditional Korean architectural style. The shape of its roof symbolises the ridge line of Dongbaekseom Island. Its interior design is a visual display of Korea’s creative traditional culture. We will also have a chance to enjoy Haeundae Beach from Nurimaru. Then we will have a chance to do some shopping at the DFS shopping centre. Then we will enjoy an amazing Korean lunch. The tour will continue to Yongdusan Park, which is home to Busan Tower and 70 different species of trees. It is a favourite for citizens of Busan wanting to relax. It is called Yongdusan because the shape of the mountain looks like the head of a dragon climbing to land from the sea. The highlight of Yongdusan Park is a night view of Busan from the 120-metre high Busan Tower. There is also the statue of General Yi Sun-sin, who was a great commander in the period of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and the monument to the April 19 Revolution, the students' anti-government revolt. The last stop on our tour will be Gukje market.  Gukje market has witnessed two major historical events: the liberation of Korea and the subsequent Korean War. Right after the liberation, Japanese goods entered in bulk and Korean refugees who had fled to Busan started businesses at this market, which was once the nation’s largest business and logistics centre.  Before we return to the ship, we will have the chance to visit a souvenir shop.
