Ishigaki's Best Tourist Attractions
You will first visit Yaima Mura Village. It features a number of 80-100 years old traditional houses of the Yaeyama area that have been removed from their original sites and carefully rebuilt for educational purposes. Live folk music performances and a mini-zoo with squirrel monkeys add an entertaining touch, and there is a boardwalk leading into the Mangrove forest of the Nagura River. Next, you drive to Tamatorisaki Observation Deck. This is an observation platform offering nice views of Cape Tamatori, Ibaruma Bay, Ishigaki's hilly northern peninsula and the emerald blue ocean with its coral reefs. You will then have lunch near Kabira Bay, which is considered Ishigaki Island's most scenic view. Kabira Bay, along with Iriomote, are the only two cultivation sites of black pearls in Japan.
After that, you will enjoy shopping at a supermarket in Ishigaki.
